Supported today: Open Dental CloudYour practice's data in the cloud
For practices on cloud practice software, OperatoryView runs in our cloud instead of on a computer in your office, on HIPAA-eligible cloud services, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement with your practice. It serves Open Dental Cloud today.
Read-only
Through your practice software's official API. It cannot write to it.
HIPAA-eligible
HIPAA-eligible cloud services in the United States, and a BAA with your practice.
Encrypted
In transit from every office PC, and at rest with its backups.
Only your PCs
Only PCs set up with your office password, or the Administrator account, can connect.
How your practice connects
Nothing to install on a server. Each office PC runs the same app and connects over the internet.
Your cloud practice software
Your schedule and patient records stay where they are. Your practice switches on OperatoryView's connection there.
OperatoryView for your practice
Reads your practice software through its official API, read-only, on HIPAA-eligible cloud services.
The app on every PC
Each PC reaches your practice's OperatoryView over an encrypted connection.
What we keep, and how
We use it only to run OperatoryView for your practice, and it is deleted when you ask us to delete your account.
What is kept for your practice
Your rooms, settings, accounts and history, plus what your team writes in OperatoryView, which can name a patient: patient alerts, team notes, messages and their files for the time your admin sets, and assistant chats. Encrypted in transit and at rest with our own keys, on HIPAA-eligible cloud services in the United States, and backed up for 35 days. A patient your PCs open is read live from your practice software and never saved.
Where messages go
Messages between your PCs, and your office chat with its files, go to your practice's OperatoryView in our cloud, encrypted, and are kept for the time your admin sets: 1 year by default, anywhere from 30 days to 7 years. The AI assistant reads them only when someone asks it about the day's messages.
Who can read it
Your office's PCs, each seeing what it is allowed to see, and the AI assistant when someone in your office asks it something, limited to what the PC asking may see.
Where it runs
On Amazon Web Services, in Oregon, in the United States, under a Business Associate Agreement with Amazon.
What we run for you
Updates
We update the cloud version for you. The app on each office PC still updates itself outside office hours.
Backups
Nightly encrypted backups, kept apart from the system they protect, with restores tested.
A record of every look
Every time a patient's record is opened, the audit log records who, from which PC, and when.
What we do not claim
No agency certifies software as compliant, and no vendor can make your practice compliant. Your practice remains responsible for its own compliance program. We do not hold an independent audit report or a security certification.
